Welcome to the 2016 Boating Season!
Well, the boat hit the water on April 1st! We sent the first weekend aboard recommissioning and cleaning. The second weekend, the first mate got a good dose of docking practice while there still aren’t very many boats in the water. It was a good confidence builder. Last weekend was a bit more of the same. On Saturday we ventured out to Potter’s Cove, battling the wind and 2-4 foot waves the first mate manned the helm most of the way, doing a great job in lousy conditions. Sunday was more practice with the first mate maneuvering through tight channels and getting more docking experience. It was a beautiful day with little wind and flat seas, so I have the first mate take up the Providence River and back. A great shakedown cruise!
